Feet

She always crosses her legs like that. It's super cute.

Two!

That is a Dilly Bar in Anthony's hand. I guess maybe Maria found it funny that he was getting it all over the new couch?

Sitting Up

She's sitting up really well.

Sleep and Poop

...is all I ever think about these days. But Maria has been having a really hard time doing both of the above things. Last night, however, we did not hear a PEEP from her from 7:15 until 4:45 and then I actually went in her room because I was scared there was something wrong with her. I woke up about 4:00. Anyways, she was up and she nursed and went back to sleep til 6:00 and then I lay myself down with her and she slept til 7:30 and then she napped from 9:00 til 10:30. So. That's a hell of a lot of sleep! Also, she woke up with a much better dirty diaper so that's good. Gross and I hate to mention it, but good. I am never giving her anything but prunes again. Ha - I am editing this to say that I was telling Mike how much this picture looked like a campaign ad, with her thumb up and everything. And Mike said "Maria Beck: Change you can believe in". Ha!

28 Weeks (Later)

Eating a pretzel. She didn't really eat it, just mostly worked it a little. I wish I could say something about her without complaining about her sleeping. In the spirit of being positive, I will say this - she is a happy person, when she's happy. It's true, a lot of the time she is grumpy from being tired but man - when she's happy, her whole face busts open and she just fills everyone around her with glee! She is also up in the night to eat, but man she is a fast nurser. I usually get up and feed her and am back in bed fifteen minutes later. She's also very cute and her cradle cap is getting better and her hair is starting to grow in. Her eyes are very blue. She has a cute way of laughing when you kiss her. Um. I guess that's it, but that's pretty good right?

Oh - this is a crappy picture, I know. I can't find the battery to my good camera so I had to take this with the video recorder.

Cute

Either her eyes are squinted closed or her mouth is open, I can't find a picture where neither thing is happening. Also, her cradle cap looks bad here but it's so much better after her bath tonight. We are getting there. I would love to say that she's sleeping better. But I can't. So I won't. :)

In her high chair

She is getting really good at eating from a spoon. She only likes pureed food so far, super pureed. I food processed some carrots last week and it wasn't smooth enough, I had to put them in the blender. But she eats almost everything. Well, not cereal - she seems to really hate it. But her doctor said it doesn't matter what she eats, it's just for fun at this stage, which takes the pressure off of us.

After Church

Maria and I went to church tonight and she busted out yelling toward the end of Mass. I guess she realized she was tired? She is still sacked out in the stroller and I am wondering how long she'll stay there. Last night she woke up at midnight, 1:30, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00. Sigh.

Six Month Checkup

Sorry for the extreme closeup but this is the only picture I took of her today, on the way out to the doctor. She's actually been napping well so I had about two seconds before we left, since she woke up right before we had to go. Anyway, she weighs 17 pounds, 11 oz., and is 26 inches long. Her head circumference is 46 centimeters, I think. It was one more than at four months, I remember. She was so good and charming for the doctor, he said she seems nice! I think he's always surprised, too, remembering Anthony at that age. He said she seems good and he said it's not unusual for a six month old to still nurse twice in the night. Great! I was kind of hoping he'd say 'well we better give her the sleeping pill' or something but he didn't. He did say he thinks her eyes are going to stay blue and that he'll see her in three months, so that was good.

I forgot to say

that I originally saw this dress on some baby at the Italian Festival. That was on a Saturday and then the next Monday, I think, I saw it in a store. It's so cute and summery? And Mike matched her diaper to the dress, which I love.

Mike and Maria

Outside in the backyard. I went to the mall and the grocery and when I came back my father in law and his wife were here and we had a nice visit. Mike had put her in this dress after her nap - she hasn't worn it yet and it is SUPER cute right?

Oh Come on Now

Outfit from my Aunt Joan. She gave it to me when I was in NJ but I forgot it because I am losing my mind and when you lose your mind the first thing that goes is your short term memory. It's size 12 months.

26 Weeks/ Six Months

Tough guy, right? I hope she starts to sleep better to celebrate her second half of her first year. I know I complain about these kids and their sleeping on here but my LORD, they are a pain! She is up more now than she was three months ago. Oh well, she is napping now, I shouldn't complain.
