She can really look like a wreck, right? I'm eager for her hair to grow in a little bit so we could maybe do something with it. I can't believe I have such straight haired children. She had a good night, and slept all the way until 6:20 this morning!
This girl is a terror. She is also getting OUT of those 12 month clothes but I can't stop putting her in them because the 18 month clothes are still kind of big, and she doesn't have too much, and I am not going to buy more winter 18 month clothes when it's practically March! She was up at 5:15 this morning, then took two really short naps but fell dead asleep in the car both times we were out (on the way home from open gym and on the way home from therapy). She is really walking a lot and with purpose, it's so funny - I am going to charge the camcorder tonight and I'll put up a video this weekend maybe, it's a hoot.
I'd say she walks about half the time and crawls the other half. She is sleeping a lot better, there I said it, I'm not afraid to jinx it. :) She is an early riser and a bad napper but she sleeps around 12 hours at night so what can you do? I wish with all my heart that she was more pleasant but she's not right now - I'm sure it will change at some point. She is sweet when we're out in public, for the most part. But I told Mike last night, as we were watching the Amazing Race in our room - that is my favorite time of day, when it's just us and the kids are in bed. I feel bad saying that but it's true - the rest of the day we are so tense and worried that she is going to nap, or not nap, or eat, or not eat, or grouse and cry and yell ALL DAY. It makes Anthony unhappy and it makes us unhappy and I assume she's not doing it because *she's* happy so... that's a lot of unhappiness! Maybe she'll feel better when the weather gets warmer/she has teeth bust through/she starts napping better/a miracle occurs. :)
She's in a cute outfit here that I bought at the Children's Place and it's been too big on her forever, even though it's a size 12 months. It's warm and cozy, though, so I'm glad that she's going to get to wear it this winter. I saw the weather this morning and it's going to be FREEZING for the next five days so we can still all get lots of use out of our winter clothes. :(
SHE slept until after 7:00 this morning, which is amazing and perfect and of course I hate to complain but it would be nice if Anthony could ever, EVER sleep in on the same days that she does. She's so banged up - she has a bruise across the bridge of her nose from where she fell in the drawer the other day, she has a mark on her forehead from where she fell off the stairs the other day. Mike and I were talking about it, this stage, when Anthony was her age we used to find SO many bruises on him when he was in the tub. She must fall 100 times a day. Thank God for those cloth diapers because they give her a nice cushion when she falls, BAM, to the floor on her bottom.
Ha, Mike and I were laughing and laughing about her in this outfit! It's from Anthony's teacher and it's super soft and cozy but man. It's not very ... flattering? Or something? Mike said she looks like she looks like a Harlequin or something. If I had a hat for that, I would *totally* put her in it but I don't. She came with me to the doctor this morning for the last time, she was awful! I had to hold her up on my throat so that the doctor could try and hear the heartbeat. Before I was holding her she was screaming and crying so loudly no one could hear anything. THEN she never could find the heartbeat so I had to have an ultrasound, again with Maria wrapped around my throat. Of course, all is well with the new baby but man. Maria is not invited back! :)
Feeding herself yougurt. Sheesh. This morning she napped from 9:00-11:30 which is a record for her morning nap. Then she went up at 1:30 for her afternoon nap and yelled til 3:00 and then fell asleep til 4:00. Oy.
She can be super cute right? These are 12 month clothes and I think it might be time to give it up. We went to the grocery store this afternoon, me, Maria and Anthony (we had a Pop Tart emergency) and we must have looked SUPER trashy. There were no carts so I had to walk my big pregnant self with Anthony and hold Maria AND the Pop Tarts, Anthony needed one immediately, Maria dug one out of the box, her face was covered in food, her shirt was all small on her. Lord. I was telling Laura about it and she asked if I paid for the pop tarts with food stamps - ha. I said that was the only thing missing was me being drunk, or smoking. Classy!
Enjoying some bread and apples. Maria and I went to the park today for about a half an hour before we went to get Anthony. She woke up at 4:30 this morning so, obviously, had to go down for a nap early so we got out before 10:00, I dropped off a sling for my friend Mary (she just had a baby), and then we went to the park. She swung in a swing for a while and then crawled around the playground equipment. We met my friend Marcea and her boys, Oscar and Jasper. It was nice to do something and nice for her to get some air. The only bad part is the 4:30 wakeup. :(
